SOUNDPAINTING
WORKSHOPS

Brecht offers soundpainting workshops tailored to everyone's needs and collaborates with artists who would like to delve deeper into the language.

Soundpainting is a universal multidisciplinary sign language for live composition for musicians, actors, dancers and visual artists. The language was invented in 1974 in Woodstock, New York, by Walter Thompson while he was standing in front of his orchestra. The interaction between all performers and the soundpainter is always particularly intense. With more than 1500 signs, the soundpainter can on the one hand have very concrete content in mind and on the other hand look for interesting ideas from the performers, which can be further developed. From musical novices to professionals, performers of all kinds can participate. In soundpainting, everyone can be completely themselves... or not at all...

Brecht first encountered sound painting with Johan Sabbe , after which he couldn't let go of the language. After master classes with Walter Thompson, François Jeanneau and Angélique Cormier, Brecht is now a certified sound painter. Let yourself be amazed by a new language... The possibilities are endless...
